Winemaker Notes
This vintage is lovely with solid cassis-driven aromas edged with mint and touches of forest floor, with tremendous concentration. The balance of fruit to tannin to acidity remains beautifully proportional, arguing for a long life in the cellar.
About Winery
Domaine Eden is a mountaintop wine estate purchased by Mount Eden Vineyards in 2007. Modeled after Mount Eden, it was founded and built by the late Tom Mudd in 1983, who initially planted the Mount Eden clonal selections of Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon, which evolved to include Pinot Noir from various Dijon and California selections. This is the former home of Cinnabar Winery.
This property inspired a new wine brand, Domaine Eden, which focuses on Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from this special site and Bordeaux varieties from Mount Eden’s larger home, the Santa Cruz Mountains.

Gamy aromas of roasted pork and a wet stone mineraliy surround the plush cranberry fruit on the nose of this bottling. There's a floral edge to the palate, from rose petal to violet, as well as light red-currant and more game flavors.

The 2018 Pinot Noir is also impressive, with lots of Burgundian style in its aromatics of ripe cherries, wood smoke, forest floor, spice, and earth. These carry to a medium-bodied Pinot Noir with a focused, firm, yet elegant texture, good acidity, and outstanding length. It shows the house style nicely and will benefit from another year in bottle and keep through 2028. I'd be happy to drink a bottle at dinner. Best After 2022

Delicate, with silky tannins and rich acidity backing a lively mix of cherry turnover and spice flavors, which extend on the supple and open-textured finish. Drink now
