Winemaker Notes
In 2019 we produced Cabernet Sauvignon from three vineyards in Oakville to create this robust and generous Cabernet Sauvignon. This blend is dominated by Oakville Ranch Vineyard. Located in the hills among famous neighbors Dalla Valle, Pedregal and Backus vineyards, Oakville Ranch produces powerful, rich, structured wines. Cabernet Sauvignon wines from two other vineyards along Skellenger Lane were blended in to add expressive fruit character and lush tannins. The resulting wine offers layers of dark red and blue fruit flavors with hints of cocoa and dried herbs. This is a rich and vibrant wine that can be enjoyed now, yet will age for 15+ years.

Sojourn Cellars produces highly acclaimed Pinot noir, Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon wines. We source fruit from celebrated vineyards in both Sonoma and Napa counties, where we work closely with vineyard owners who use world-class growing methods for cultivating grapes of the highest quality. Our hands-off winemaking style allows the character and personality of these special vineyard sites to shine through in the finished wines.

The Sojourn Napa Valley Cabernet is a lovely effort that is brought up in 75% new French oak and rests 20 months in barrel. It reveals a deep purple color as well as a fantastic bouquet of black plum, cassis, a touch of jalapeno pepper, dark chocolate, dried rose petals, and dried mint aromas on the nose. A lovely palate of fresh blackberry, wet loamy earth, and white pepper merge with the elevated acidity, high - but not overpowering - tannins, and a solid lengthy finish

The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Oakville is sunny with cassis, violet candy, and sweet tobacco. The palate is full and reveals a gripping structure that lifts cleanly off the palate. Black plum and graphite fill out the mid-palate, with dried herbs on the finish.
