98 points Jeb Dunnuck
The 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Diamond Mountain comes from the northern, warmer end of the appellation and has a saturated purple color as well a stunning bouquet of blackcurrants, lavender, rare meat, iodine, and unsmoked tobacco. Deep, full-bodied, and beautifully concentrated, it hits the palate with an expansive, sexy texture, building tannins, and a monster of a finish. It's going to benefit from 4-5 years of bottle age and cruise for 25-30 years in cool cellars.
95 points Vinous
The 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Diamond Mountain is one of the more distinctive wines in this range from Hall. Bold, racy aromatics make a strong opening statement. Ripe dark cherry, plum, juniper berry, black pepper, dried flowers and exotic spices all give the 2016 a decidedly savory profile that is utterly beguiling.
93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Diamond Mountain is deep garnet-purple colored and reveals earth-inspired notions of tilled soil, truffles, mossy bark and crushed rocks over a core of warm blackberries, cassis and plum preserves. Full-bodied, the palate has lovely ripe, rounded tannins and plenty of freshness to support the generous black fruits, finishing with a peppery kick.
