About Winery

Beaux Frères is the story of an uncommon encounter between the exceptional Willamette Valley, Oregon terroir and Founder Michael Etzel.
While on vacation in 1986, Michael Etzel came upon an 88-acre pig farm for sale located on Ribbon Ridge in the Northern Willamette Valley, Yamhill County, Oregon. After some deliberation, Michael purchased the farm with his brother-in-law (“beaux frères”), Robert Parker, Jr. Since their first vintage in 1991, the Beaux Frères philosophy remains the same; to produce a world-class Pinot Noir from small, well-balanced yields and ripe, healthy fruit that represent the essence of the vineyard, while also using organic and biodynamic practices. Today, Beaux Frères is recognized as an exemplary Estate in Oregon.

96 points James Suckling
This deliberately, elegantly tuned blend of three parcels (Beaux Frères, Upper Terrace and Sequitur vineyards) delivers a redder-cherry focus of fruit on the nose with roses and some gently fragrant notes of leaves and sour cherries. There’s a lighter feel to the palate, yet it has great volume of red fruit and vibrant freshness. The tannins glide in silky, caressing and balanced mode. Drink or hold.(1/2020)

Vivid ruby-red. Seductive raspberry liqueur, exotic spice and floral oil aromas, along with hints of incense and smoky minerals. Juicy, seamless and broad on the palate, offering densely packed red berry and floral pastille flavors that show excellent clarity and tighten up steadily as the wine opens up. Fine-grained tannins lend shape to a strikingly long, velvety finish that shows superb red fruit- and spice-driven persistence. 35% new oak. (JR)(8/2020)

94 points Wine Spectator
Harmonious yet dynamic, with fervent violet and raspberry notes that pick up orange peel and black tea accents along the way to a polished, structured finish. (TF) (10/2020)

93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
Medium ruby in color, the 2018 Pinot Noir The Belles Soeurs has pure scents of cranberry, dusty earth and charcuterie with top notes of citrus peel and iodine. The medium-bodied palate is pure and expressive, lifted and fresh, with a silky texture and long, ethereal finish. (EB) (12/2020)
