Region: Burgundy

Country: France

Tasting Notes

It is praised for its bright red fruit, floral lift, and earthy complexity, with silky tannins and a long, mineral finish. Domaine Ramonet, founded in the late 1920s by Pierre Ramonet, has since become one of Burgundy’s most iconic estates, now run by Jean-Claude Ramonet and his daughters, continuing a legacy of terroir-driven winemaking.

About Winery

Domaine Ramonet was founded in Chassagne-Montrachet in the late 1920s by Pierre Ramonet, who quickly gained recognition for his wines, notably after acquiring the Premier Cru Les Ruchottes vineyard in 1934. His reputation grew internationally, with Ramonet becoming one of the first Burgundy estates to export estate-bottled wines to the United States after Prohibition. Over the decades, the domaine expanded holdings to include prestigious Grand Cru sites such as Montrachet, Bâtard-Montrachet, and Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet. Today, the estate is run by Jean-Claude Ramonet and his daughters Anne-France and Clarisse, who continue the family’s tradition of meticulous vineyard management, low yields, and terroir-driven winemaking. Domaine Ramonet is best known for its legendary white wines, but its reds, including Chassagne-Montrachet Rouge, are increasingly recognized for their finesse and quality
