2015 Fisher Wedding Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon
Country : USA
Vintage : 2015
Region : Sonoma County
Founded in 1973 by Fred and Juelle Fisher, the winery is nestled at the 1500-foot elevation on the western face of the Mayacamas Mountains between the Napa and Sonoma Valleys and home to their Wedding Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon and Whitney's Vineyard Chardonnay. Their Coach Insignia Cabernet, Lamb Vineyard Cabernet and RCF Vineyard Merlot come from their estate on the Silverado Trail in the Napa Valley. It is from these two sites that the winery strives to fulfill their mission of producing world class Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot.
Commemorating Fred and Juelle's wedding in 1975, the Wedding Vineyard is not only an integral part of the winery, but also an integral part of our family's life in the Mayacamas Mountains. First planted to Martha's Vineyard clone Cabernet in 1973, the Wedding Vineyard covers eleven gently sloping acres at an elevation of 1,200 feet. Replanted in 2002, the vineyard today is comprised of eight vlocks of Cabernet, one block of Petite Verdot and one block of Cabernet Franc. 95% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Cabernet Franc
De-stemmed and double sorted
Whole-berry fermented in 60 gallon barrels, oak and stainless tanks
Aged 21 months in French oak barrels (100% new)
Bottled unfined and unfiltered
Deep garnet-purple, the 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Wedding Vineyard has a show-stopping nose of violets, chocolate box, anise, cedar chest and red roses over a core of warm cassis, blackberry compote and black raspberries with wafts of wood smoke and iron ore. Full-bodied and built like a brick house, the palate delivers tons of tightly wound layers, framed by very firm, very finely grained tannins and wonderful freshness, finishing long. Give it five years in bottle and drink it over the next 30.
