2019 Rombauer Zinfandel | WE 91

"This richly layered berry-and-chocolate parfait of a wine exudes blackberries, black plums and milk chocolate on a creamy, smooth texture. A full body, soft tannins and a mouthcoating richness give it plenty of personality."

2020 DAOU Pessimist | JD 92

"Always a Petite Sirah-dominated wine, the 2020 Pessimist sports an inky purple color as well as a great, full-bodied style carrying wonderful blue fruits, spring flowers, spice, and vanilla aromas and flavors. It's textured, has ripe tannins, loads of fruit, and is about as sexy and gulpable as they come."

2017 Epoch Veracity | JD 96

"Based on 47% Mourvèdre, 34% Grenache, and 19% Syrah, the 2017 Veracity is beautifully done, revealing a core of blue fruits, plenty of peppery herbs, violets, spice, and floral notes, medium to full body, and a great finish. It's one of those wines that grows on you with time in the glass, and I suspect it will be even better with another 2-3 years of bottle age (although it's terrific today)."

2007 Chateau Providence | Vivino 4.3

Made in a masculine, virile, full-bodied style with lots of density and power, the 2007 Providence is atypical for this vintage. Stylistically, it leans toward a style similar to the famed Chateau Trotanoy. Meaty black currant, earth, and forest floor characteristics combined with pure fruit and considerable structure make for a wine that requires several years of cellaring. It should evolve for 10-15 years.

2015 Chateau Leoville Poyferre | JD 97

"The 2015 Leoville Poyferre is cut from the same cloth as the 2016, yet is more sexy, rounded and opulent. Notes of cassis, licorice, crushed rocks, lead pencil shavings and graphite all emerge from this unctuous, ripe, pedal-to-the-metal beauty that's absolutely loaded with fruit and texture. Reminding me of the 2003, yet only fresher, don't miss this beauty. It should be drinkable in 3-4 years and last for 3-4 decades. Inner quote mark (11/2017)"
