Winemaker Notes

The 2023 Domaine Henri Bourgeois JS-150 Pouilly-Fumé is a refined Sauvignon Blanc from the Loire Valley. It offers lively acidity and a complex aromatic profile, with citrus, pear, quince, and green plum layered over chalky and flinty mineral notes. Subtle touches of white flowers and white pepper add elegance, while the palate is bright, fresh, and steely, finishing with impressive persistence. Structured yet balanced, this wine can age gracefully for 8–10 years, pairing beautifully with fine cuisine such as seafood, poultry, or goat cheese.

About Winery

The Domaine Henri Bourgeois story spans ten generations of winegrowers rooted in Chavignol, Sancerre, France. Originally smallholders farming mixed crops and vines, the family gradually dedicated themselves to viticulture, with Henri Bourgeois formally establishing the domaine in the mid-20th century. Starting with just a few hectares, they expanded across Sancerre and Pouilly-Fumé, building a reputation for expressive Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir. Today, the family continues to honor its Loire Valley heritage while also exploring new terroirs abroad, notably with their Clos Henri vineyard in Marlborough, New Zealand, blending tradition with innovation.
