2020 | VIVINO 4.4 (PRE ORDER)

Known for its "Les Noisetiers" (hazelnut) profile, it combines bright citrus (lemon/lime) and pear flavors with nutty, flinty, and toasted oak notes, supported by high acidity.

2022 | VIVINO 4.4

A "classy," soft, yet mid-weight Chardonnay with great charm. It balances ripe apple and citrus meringue with savory hazelnut ("noisetiers" meaning hazlenuts) notes.

2023 | V 92

In this vintage, some of the nutty character (after which the wine is named) is more subtle than in past years. Lemon confit, white flowers and tangerine oil all grace the palate, building into an understated yet beautifully resonant finish. The 2023 is driven by strong citrus and floral inflections rather than the almond/hazelnut profile often found in this bottling. (AG)

About Winery

Kistler Vineyards is a small winery in the Russian River Valley specializing in Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Founded in 1978 on the notion that compelling wines of site can and should be made in California. Kistler has been working with their own heritage selection of Chardonnay since the mid-1980s and is known the world over as a single clone Chardonnay house. They plant one heritage selection of Chardonnay across fifteen vineyards, giving rise to eleven vineyard designate Chardonnays. Similarly, Kistler produces four Pinot Noirs; each of these wines is crafted from the two small-clustered, low-yielding clones that were imported from a Grand Cru vineyard in Burgundy, which they began propagating over 20 years ago. Geoff Labitzke, MW, is the National Director of Sales for Kistler Vineyards and will be our guide as we explore five distinct bottlings of Kistler’s highly sought-after wines.

Winemaker Notes

The 2023 Kistler Chardonnay Les Noisetiers offers a beautifully balanced expression of Sonoma Coast fruit, showcasing aromas of white flowers, hazelnuts, and ripe stone fruits like peach and apricot. On the palate, it delivers a rich, creamy texture with vibrant acidity, layered with flavors of pineapple, pear, and subtle oak. The wine finishes long and crisp, with mineral undertones and a touch of buttery elegance, making it both complex and food-friendly.
